  I was thinking about getting my 21st birthday cake done by this bakery so I decided to go and try some cupcakes. I bought a chocolate cupcake with cream cheese icing. The cupcake was beautiful, it even had edible glitter on top but boy oh boy was that cupcake bland.. It had ZERO flavor. I only ate about a quarter of it and threw the rest away. The icing was flavorless and the cake was dry. How can cream cheese taste like air? Needless to say I will be searching elsewhere for my birthday cake.

  Disappointment! To follow up on the review my husband posted 6 month ago about our wedding cake experience with Melissa's Bakery:
  We had been holding on to this Melissa's gift card ever since it was issued to us because we did not want to give her our business. It was the principle of the matter, you know. When I finally decided to go spend this large sum of money to ship a few king cakes to some lovely ladies on the west coast, SURPRISE, the gift card would not work. Melissa had me get on the store phone so that she could sarcastically explain that she had "revoked our money on the gift card because my husband wrote a bad review about her store on Google, so we got our refund, honey." I told her that was against the law, and that you cannot take people's money because you do not like what their opinion of your service is. She replied, "Well, you just get your lawyer to meet mine at the courthouse then." I had to hang up on her out of disgust, and trying to keep my cool. I asked for my gift card back from the nice guy behind the counter and left the store.
  
  I for one value honesty, hard work, kindness, and respect. Although they may work hard, I give them that, I certainly did not find any honesty, kindness, or respect for customers in this bakery. I take responsibility for ever putting the deposit down without being satisfied, my bad, but we were trying to support a local business we had heard so many good things about in the news paper and from friends. For the record, I stand behind every word my husband said in his review because it was the truth.

  I got a cake for my Sweet Sixteen and this was my first cake from a bakery so I was excited. When we got it, however, it didn't look like the picture as much as it should have and it tasted TERRIBLE. No one at my party wanted to eat it and they ended up eating the food we made haha. We payed $600 for a cake that we ended up throwing three quarters away because it was so bad.
  
  ADDITIONAL: The guy at the front desk though was incredibly sweet and helpful and was giving suggestions for looks and cheapest prices! The problem with the bakery is Melissa.
